Wes Lifferth, Artist

Born in Utah, Wes grew up in Lamb’s Canyon, Granite and Midway, Utah; and Fortine, Montana.  He graduated from High School in Eureka, Montana.  After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attending college in Rexburg, Idaho, he moved to Provo, Utah, and graduated in Art from Brigham Young University.

Wes put himself through college working as a machinist, and continued to support his wife and six children with his machining skills, when he finished school.  After living and working in Utah, Montana and Washington State, he came back to Provo to run the machine and wood shops for the Physics and Astronomy Department at BYU.  He and his family settled in Payson, Utah.

Although quite busy, he continued to paint and draw using pen and ink, watercolors, and oils. He later developed skills in creating clay sculptures to be cast in bronze, wood relief carving, and stained glass.  Wes had one man shows in Grand Junction, Colorado, and at Brigham Young University, in the Wilkinson Center Gallery.

Occasionally, Wes has entered juried art shows:
